I used so many techniques learned in yoga while in labor. I really attribute prenatal yoga to my being calm and so prepared for this whole process.  I felt physically great going into labor, and feel AMAZING so early in my recovery process. I have to give my perspective on how much yoga helped. First, it was incredibly useful during those weeks of prodromal labor. It helped me stay relaxed and mentally tough during those long weeks. During the c-section, I was scared and used a lot of the relaxation from yoga to stay calm. Most notably, months of doing squats has helped strengthen my legs- taking the strain off my incision. Prenatal yoga with Melissa was a highlight of my week. I started around 31 weeks and wish I started before. The way class is conducted with tips and pointers and discussion topics every week to think about were so much help in preparing for baby and birthing as well as different techniques or positions to try during labor and delivery. The yoga part itself was also very helpful in developing strength and stretches to use during the weeks ahead and also while in labor. I would highly recommend Melissa and her prenatal yoga series to any expectant mom. I look forward to going back! - N. S.

I'm serious that without your class I know I wouldn't have gotten through this labor. I was able to focus on my breath and practice everything we learned in class. I was able to visualize myself opening. I had baby in such a great position the whole time from all the exercises you taught me that I never once had back labor and he was in the perfect position to come right out.
